How we all doin’?

Admittedly, many things have been the exact opposite of good for me lately, BUT I’m curiously not feeling all that down as I often would . More of a somber, calm acceptance of temporary challenges , versus anger and anxiety that would amplify the negativity . Plus: it’s Friday!

Hoping to go for a nice therapeutic drive tomorrow. Other than that I’ve got no real plans, and I look forward to sitting in a chair and doing nothing

I drove up to Duluth for the holiday weekend, and it’s apparently hovering around -6 degrees here. The new season of the Gr and Tour  seems to show promise though.

Good! I promised myself I will actually work on project cars this weekend and finish diagnosing a friends charhing issue on her camry. I finally have g arage freed up after getting my protege wheel bearing done so dont have to worry / make excuse about it raining.

Life is kind of a struggle these days. Lots of pressure, but I count so many blessings in life. My daughter’s 13 birthday party is tomorrow, and I’m going to be swamped with 7th graders. That’s will actually be fun.

I about to pick up the infamous promaster after a new transmission was just installed. Luckily after that I only have to drive it about 15 miles home and it  can sit for the weekend my bet is I’m back in a rental by Wednesday..

Looking for something fun to drive on weekends and wrench on occasionally, but failing lately.  CL locally just not turning up much.  I refuse to join FB just to access their marketplace.  Ideally an early 5 or 6 series BMW.

I’ve got about a million deferred chores to do this weekend, including fixing the a/c fan in Clifford and throwing some camber bolts into the 86. Instead, I’m lying in bed reading Oppo. I can smell coffee though, which may be enough to get me up soon:  we bought ourselves an espresso machine for Christmas.

Back in the fall, I started to seriously consider selling my Miata since I didn't think I could justify the cost of owning 2 cars while I'm trying to pay off my debt and save for a house. I decided to table the idea until after the holidays. Yesterday I took another look at my finances, and I'm pretty sure that I should sell the Miata. I actually am ok with not having the car, but I'm very not excited about the process of dealing with countless flaky internet people.

Good!

I’m incredibly tired because baby still won’t sleep more than 2 hours at a time, school’s started back up, and work’s been busy. My back hurts and I gouged my dome by slamming my head into a large, immovable piece of steel last night at work (no brain damageamageamageamageamage!1!).

But, those are my chief complaints, so everything’s looking good! “...A cceptance of temporary challenges” is a great way to put it.

I’ll still have my 2012 Fiat 500. It’s got about 76k miles on it and my mechanic friend takes good care of it. The Miata was always a second car, but after moving north from NC to PA, I’m not sure that I’m able to drive it often enough to justify keeping it. The Fiat is an automatic but I actually prefer it that way. It was a blast to drive it in the 2018 Oppo Rally.

So far so good. Went for a late night drive through Snoqualmie Valley backroads and that was fun. It f eels like it’s got grip forever. It’s so easy to corner fast I alm ost want to put skinnier rear tires on it just to for ce it to be more fun / l oose.

If this car is still at the dealer in 2 months I’m going to go see if I could live with a fancy civic. Pluses: It’s an automatic, heated leather seats, traction control, 200 HP! Minuses: it’s kinda ugly.

Had court for ticket I got back in October. Thinking of selling Juke privately, then the Fit could be possible. I don’t know really. I could fix it & pay it off more, but right now it’s worth what I owe on the loan. So it seems like a good time. It’s more of pain in ass then it's good lately.

A part of me would be sad for sure. But if I can sell it for 4 or 5 grand, drop it from my insurance, and not pay for maintenance on 2 cars anymore, a part of me would be very happy. It runs fine at the moment, but it'll need a new set of tires some time in 2019.

I’ve meet a sweet young woman and going nuts trying to inter pret if she wants to be friends or something more. I didn’t invite her up to go into the city and to the auto show, as I thought “hey I have a hotel room in the city” would be an aw kward proposal due to insinuation. I think she was a bit bummed she wasn’t invited.
